Box Office Buzz

Judging from the past weekend’s totals, there’s something going on at the box office. Moviegoers are still indulging in cheap entertainment in light of this economic recession, but are becoming pickier about which movie they see. Blockbuster hits like Land of the Lost should be grossing billions after all the marketing efforts, and movies with narrow audiences featuring no proven movie stars, like The Hangover, should not have dominated the box office for the month of June. But it happened. The Hangover had the third highest debut for an R-rated comedy ever and Land of the Lost was one of Will Ferrell’s lowest openings.

Maybe Will should stick to streaking in the quad?
