Songbird: Universal pulls content from MTV

The next time you want to see new videos from Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Eminem and Justin Bieber you are going to have to head to Vevo.com. The largest music label in the world, Universal, has officially pulled it’s content from MTV’s website. Universal, which runs and operates Vevo, has decided to use the site to house its music video content. The decision to pull it’s content from MTV.com came after talks between two broke down. MTV said it had been unable to reach a fair agreement for rights to stream UMG artists’ musicvideo content during discussions with Vevo. [Variety] This just begs the question … MTV still plays music videos?
