Related Movie News: What Does the Future Hold For Moviegoers?

Apparently, scoring big at the box office translates into big cuts and shutdowns. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen scored a record-breaking opening night, not to mention a $400 million profit in five days, but that didn’t stop Paramount Pictures from wiping out jobs. They completely cut their award-winning extension, Paramount Vantage, and are exploring a plan that would combine its home distribution with either 20th Century Fox or Sony Pictures Entertainment.

This means that there will be a bigger push towards developing mega-franchises, like Transformers, and a pull from individual unique movies, like Burn After Reading.
