Following the lead of almost every other sneaker company, adidas finally has entered the personalized shoe game. Sort of. At the adidas originals store in SoHo (on Wooster between Houston and Prince) you can now sit in a dentist-style chair and design your own Superstars (classic shelltoes) or ZXZ’s. Even though they only have two shoe choices, the colors and materials you can choose from are almost overwhelming. If this seems like something you’d be into I’d suggest allowing at least an hour to complete the process. The guy at the store mentioned that other models with soon be available for this customization. I’m hoping that the Campus, Gazelle, or Stan Smith get in the mix. Better yet, here’s hoping that adidas creates their own version of nikeid.com. That site is incredibly user friendly and makes the process of making your own sneakers easy and enjoyable. Please adidas, make this website and prepare to take all of my money.
